Hello!
The Lord is good! It is so great to start another year as we continue sharing the Gospel across the state of Nebraska with college students. It is such a privilege to have the opportunity to serve with you.
We have just finished our annual CORE Leaders
Retreat. At this retreat we get to reconnect with
several of our leaders from around the state to cast vision and get them excited again to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ on their campus again. This year we were able to really get the students excited about small group discipleship.
With Nebraska Catalytic, we believe in discipleship and raising up new laborers to lead on each campus. We do this, in part, by having students launch spiritual movements in each pocket of their campus. In these movements they are challenged to practice “spiritual DNA” in the context of fellowship with other students of the same sex.
What is a movement?
A movement is a student with two of their friends coming together to live in authentic Biblical community. Looking at Biblical examples of Biblical community, we discover a few basic principles that these groups of believers lived by:
Devotion to the Word
Authentic relationships
Partners in the Great Commission
An easy way we communicate these three basic elements of a movement is DNA: Divine Truth (the bible and the Holy Spirit), Nurturing Relationships (marked by honesty and confessing sins), and Apolostolic
Mission (being sent with the Gospel to those who don’t yet believe).
We as staff members also participate in movements with students that live here in Lincoln.
Things to be praying for:
-More partners like yourselves to be raised up
-Colleen and I finding a dependable car to travel in
-The students’ first two weeks would be successful
-God’s provision for the incoming freshman
-The Lord would be working before we step onto
campus next week
-Boldness as we go and share the Gospel
Thank you so much for answering God’s call to partner with us in ministry. Please feel free to email us with any prayer request that you may have as well. We would love to hear from you.
Serving with you,
Mozart and Colleen
The CORE!!!
