Hi!

This month has been an exciting month to start our spiritual movements on the campuses across the state. We’ve had the opportunity to hear what God has been doing in students’ lives and had the opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. It’s great to be able to share with you where the Lord has been moving.

Brady Beran is a student at Southeast Community College in Lincoln (SCCL). He actually grew up in Lincoln not to far from SCCL and attended Lincoln East High school. High school is where the Lord really started to reveal Himself to Brady.

On September 24th, 2004 Brady was playing in a football game when he had a helmet-to-helmet collision with another player on the field. After collapsing on the sidelines he was taken to the hospital, where he was rushed into surgery with a very slim chance of surviving. The doctors were about to come out to tell his parents he hadn’t made it when he began to turn around. This was just the start of the it. Brady faced death several more times during the next five weeks while he remained in a coma and had four more surgeries.

At the end of October, Brady was transferred to a
rehabilitation hospital, unable to speak, read, walk or swallow. He had been a 4.0 student, and now he could read at barely a kindergarten level and do only simple math. Through several days of therapy and the Lord’s strength, Brady was able to get back to school, graduate with his high school class, and from there began his college career and ministry.

Brady is now on the leadership team at SCCL and attends the men’s college small group I hold on Sundays. It has been amazing to share life with Brady and challenge him to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people through the redemptive story of Jesus in his life that he shares often.

We are so grateful for having students like Brady who want to further God’s kingdom with us on their campuses.
