Hello!
We hope your summer is going well thus far. We’d like to share some of what our students are doing this summer. Every year we challenge all our students to give a portion their summer to the Lord to do missions anywhere in the nation or even the world. These mission trips are called Summer Projects, where students go to different parts of the world to proclaim the Gospel for 6 to 10 weeks. We believe this is a great opportunity to stretch and grow our students tremendously.
One of our students currently on Summer Project is Nathan from UNK. Nathan is in Long Beach, CA and his Project has been a growth opportunity for his walk with the Lord. Nathan has spent a lot of time while in Long Beach reflecting on his personal sin issues and asking the Lord to change his heart. One of the greatest lessons he is learning right now is how to find his identity in Jesus rather than in the world.
The issue of finding their identity outside of Christ is something that a majority of our students deal with. They could be identifying themselves by their field of study, by the sports they play, the relationships they’re in, or even the way they look, but we are to look only to Christ to shape who we are. Nathan currently has someone on Project to disciple him and is working with an accountability partner to keep his heart in check with God’s heart. The ways in which Nathan is growing spiritually will be so important once he is outside of this Summer Project environment and back on campus with his peers. He’ll be much better equipped to face struggles and challenges of his everyday life now that he has a Biblical perspective of who he is according to our Lord.
Another student currently in Long Beach is Jon, also from UNK. Jon has a heart for evangelism so what he has been most encouraged by during Summer Project is the opportunities he’s had to share his faith. He is a part of the outreach team for his Project so he helps organize what type of outreach the group will be doing that week. One of his favorite evangelism opportunities so far was going to Huntington Beach during a concert and volleyball tournament when a lot of people would be around and sharing the gospel there. They have also gone out to a park and given sandwiches to homeless people and shared the gospel with them. Jon has a man to disciple him while he’s on Project and they go out once a week, just the two of them, to share the gospel with people they meet around Long Beach. Jon feels very prepared to take the evangelism opportunities he has had in Long Beach back to his campus in Kearney in order to help us reach more students with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Summer Project has made a life-long impact on our students from accross the nation. Please join us this summer in prayer for Nathan, Jon, and the other students in our state while they are being sharpened by the Lord and proclaiming the Gospel.

Update
Dear Friends and Ministry Partners,
As some of you might know, Campus Crusade for Christ is a large umbrella ministry with many smaller ministries functioning under it. The “campus” ministry that we work for is only one of the facets to Campus Crusade for Christ as a whole. One of the other wonderful ministries that Campus Crusade for Christ offers is called Keynote, which is based on music. Keynote has an acoustic/rock band called Blue Sky Nine that came to Nebraska last month and performed on three of our campuses: Peru State College, Doane College, and Nebraska Wesleyan University. The purpose of Blue Sky Nine coming to campus is for them to be used as a ministry tool to either make the name of Campus Crusade for Christ more known on campus, or to share the good news of Jesus Christ during their concerts. It was such a blessing for us to have this band perform and share the gospel on our campuses, and we’re so excited to see how God uses the seeds that were planted during the concerts for His glory.
In our letter from last month we explained to you that our plans for the summer were to attend New Staff Training in Orlando, and that we would then be considered full-time staff rather than interns. Throughout this year we have lost a significant amount of monthly support due to individual circumstances of our supporters, and after reviewing our current financial support, we have made the decision through much prayer to postpone attending training until January 2011. This means that we will have the entire summer and fall semester to increasing our amount of ministry partners so that we are in a more stable financial situation to become full-time staff. Once school begins in the fall, we will spend a portion of our time on campus and the rest of our time raising support. We believe that the Lord has called us to change our original plans of going to training this summer in order to avoid putting our family through unnecessary financial hardship.
Because our position with Campus Crusade for Christ is something we plan to do long-term, we must now dedicate a majority of our time to increasing our monthly support so that we are in a healthy financial situation to continue to proclaim the Gospel among the students of Nebraska, and to build a life for our family within this ministry. Please be praying for us as we seek referrals and potential increases from current ministry partners, and develop new partners. If you have further questions about what you could be praying for in detail, or if you have prayer needs, please email us at one of our email addresses below.

Update!!!
This is my (Colleen) first official blog-post! Since Moe’s last post a lot has happened both on campuses and in our personal life. We have thankfully been able to resolve our issues with some student leaders on a few campuses and we are currently in the process of transitioning our leadership teams as some students are graduating, and younger students are stepping up to lead with the ministry. This is keeping us busy!
Personally we have seen God move in some great ways since you last heard from us. We were trying to work out a more consistent schedule for spending time with Moe’s son, Tre, and and that has all been resolved. We happily have Tre for exactly half of every month, which is such a blessing. We have so much fun as a family. We are excited to report that Tre will be attending Parkview Christian School (PCS), which is the school that is affiliated with our church. PCS has offered us a generous scholarship in order to help make that possible, praise God!
As the school-year winds down in the next few weeks, Moe and I will begin the process of Ministry Partner Development in order to help increase our ministry funds. Please pray that the Lord blesses us in a mighty way through our efforts to raise more funds for the Gospel.
During this time period we will be transitioning into signing up for another 2 years on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ here in Nebraska. This is a huge step of faith for Moe and me because this means we will be committing to making college missions a career move for our family. We truly believe the Lord has placed us here in this season of life to be stateside missionaries at colleges for an extended period of time. Because of this our needs will be substantially increasing, especially in the area of prayer. Read Full...

Relying on the Lord's Strength
Colleen and I have been go go go for the last two months. It has been a continuous perseverance for us in ministry. When ministry is going well, satan is in the mist trying to snuff our the joy that the Lord bestows on His laborers.
We have had some battles with controversy at some of our schools which has been causing division. And to make matters even more trying while we are on the battle field for the Lord we have had some personal controversy to work through. However, it has been very encouraging to know that the people who are aware of everything have been praying. God is good!
Praise Jesus that through His word we have been able to maintain that zeal to go to work every day expecting and waiting in anticipation for what the Lord has in store for that day. He has been able to continue to renew us by the freshness of His Word daily. The most encouraging very that has been with me the last week or so has been this one:
"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."
Until next time God bless!!!! Read Full...
